If you don’t know whether you have a good eating habit or not, then it is good for you to take a brief test on eating habits in order to pay attention to your health. At the end you will be able to get not only the results, but also some tips to improve your quality of life.
Eating habits test
Below you will have a series of statements to which you must say whether they are “true” or “false”:
- I eat sweets on an occasional basis, without remorse.

- I drink 1.5 to 2 liters of water daily.
- Every day I prepare at least one meal with fresh ingredients.
- I do not eat eggs every day.
- My weight has not changed much in the last few years (more than 5 kg).
- At least 4 times a week I eat nuts and legumes.
- I don’t plan my meals; I just eat what I want.
- I eat at least once a day as a family or with my partner.
- I prefer whole grain breads instead of white bread.
- When I eat rice or pasta I prefer whole wheat.
- My meat consumption does not reach 3 servings per week.
- I do not eat sweets or sweets while watching TV.
- I have never been overweight.
- I only use olive oil.
- I don’t eat fast, as I try to enjoy every bite.
- I do not usually consume precooked products.
- I eat precooked food only once a week at the most.
- Daily, I drink more than two cups of green tea.

- Each “True” is equivalent to 0 points.
- Each “False” is equivalent to 1 point.

From 0 to 10 points:
There is a good balance as you can appreciate a healthy diet without neglecting pleasure. In spite of almost not consuming animal fats, you do not feel affected because you enjoy every bite and maintain this lifestyle quietly.
Occasionally you may eat a little more than usual, but this does not usually affect you, because your weight remains stable. However, you should keep in mind that you will have to follow certain restrictions and dietary needs over time.
From 11 to 21 points:
It is time to start a change. It is usual that you start to accumulate abdominal fat, and maybe you already have some love handles. But this is only at an aesthetic level, what is really important is that you are prone to suffer from diabetes, heart problems, arthritis, chronic inflammation and even cancer.
You need to start adopting a healthier lifestyle, even if you know some basic principles, but knowing them is not enough. It is time to put them into practice.
Reduce calorie intake, especially avoid fat when cooking. Keep in mind that not all meals should have oil. Many people cook rice or pasta with oil, but this is not necessary for them to be good.
Try to increase the consumption of fruits, vegetables, cereals and drink 2 liters of water a day; you will begin to see good results. Also, remember that any physical activity a day is of great importance.
More than 21 points:
It is important that you start a change as soon as possible. Surely, you suffer from overweight. To start try to eat calmly, it is not an eating competition. Each bite should be small and chewed at least 20 times before swallowing. So, start by making an effort to eat calmly and little by little you will get used to chew your food well.
You need more fiber, vitamins and micronutrients. Leave aside the junk food that offers ready meals and reduce the consumption of sugar to the maximum. Eat meats at most once a week. Finally, urgently reduce the consumption of soft drinks and fried foods.
It is good that you visit your doctor and start taking control of your health. Forget about miracle diets and simply avoid what you know is wrong. Likewise, it is best that you go to a nutritionist, which will be the best support for your well-being.
Finally, remember that physical activity is necessary. Walking 60 minutes a day is more than enough. You can also practice dance or any other sport. But the important thing is that your body starts to move.
